MAKING A DIFFERENCE
AspireYouth is a dynamic youth development program dedicated to empowering young South Africans to reach their full potential. Founded in 2014 as an alternative to the well-established youth development NGO mode, AspireYouth comprises both a non-profit organisation and a for-profit business, with the intention of a hybrid entity less reliant on external funding. AspireYouth was created to enable the fostering of income-generating opportunities for disadvantaged South African youth, as well as offering the training, development and mentorship necessary for them to start growing toward their full potential.

Through a range of innovative initiatives, workshops, courses, and mentorship opportunities, AspireYouth aims to cultivate professional skills, foster personal growth, and inspire positive change within communities. By providing access to resources, guidance, and support networks, AspireYouth equips young people with the tools and confidence they need to pursue their dreams, overcome challenges, and make a meaningful impact in the world.
Hennie, our founder and head carpenter, is a guide at AspireYouth where he mentors participants from the programme. Transition Timbers works with AspireYouth to create meaningful pathways to employment and economic empowerment for young South Africans, equipping them with valuable skills, experience, and opportunities for long-term success in the woodworking industry and beyond. By fostering a supportive and inclusive environment, both organisations ensure that young South Africans have the resources and encouragement they need to succeed in their careers and contribute positively to their communities.
